Trail distance: 6.6 mi one-way to junction with Rosalie Trail
Elevation: 8,960 ft at TH, 11,830 ft at Rosalie trail junction
Directions: Hwy 285 west (go ~48 miles from Santa Fe Drive). Right at the town of Grant, north on Guanella Pass (seasonal road, check for closures). Trailhead is small pull-thru parking area on right near campground, about 3 miles off 285.

I hiked the first 3.5 miles or so and then turned back, thinking this would be a great back packing trip to really cover some ground in the Mt Evans Wilderness. The section I did climbed steadily, but was pleasant and not too grueling.
If you were to keep hiking, I’ve read of awesome views including Mt Evans, Mt Bierstadt and Mt Kataka. After 6.6 miles is the junction with the Rosalie Trail where you can head either west or east for a further trail adventure.
