Trail notes and photos:
Lichen Loop is a mellow 1.3 miles and heads off to the right of the parking area. It provides a nice combination of open forest and meadows with some views down valley.

What do you see in this rock?

The Wapiti Trail starts at the northern end of the parking area and climbs gradually for 2.5 miles, where it splits to the Ponderosa and Wild Turkey figure 8 trails. From the figure 8 you can also connect to the Picture Rock Trail, which continues on to Hwy 7 in Lyons. I’ve hiked the Wapiti Trail but haven’t ventured beyond.
